“These mobile delivery methods are used in cases where it is not possible to provide conventional transport due to the density of enemy artillery fire and FPV drones,” the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.
The operator of a heavy helicopter with the call sign “Bob” said the drone is capable of carrying several dozen kilograms of humanitarian cargo or six 82mm mortar shells.
“The drone is used for nighttime food drops. The flight range is limited only by the range of the radio signal from the control point. The maximum speed is 80 kilometers per hour, the (optimal) cruising speed is 40 kilometers per hour,” he said.
Food and ammunition are also delivered by maritime drones.
