Stanislav Solovyov from Mari El went to the NVO zone at the behest of his heart: in the first months of the special operation, he signed up as a volunteer. At home his wife and his two children were waiting for him, who knew for sure that dad would return soon as a true hero.
Stanislav, together with his comrades in arms, not only carried out the assigned tasks, but also helped the civilian population of Donbass. Fighters helped deliver humanitarian aid, evacuate children from abandoned villages. Stanislav himself recalls how important it was for people to hear words of encouragement, how many residents of small towns and cities joyfully ran to the Russian fighters, in whom they saw protection and support.
Stanislav successfully completed all combat missions and returned home to a loving family. Already in the republic, he decided to undergo a medical examination and treatment. Faced with this request, he went to the branch of the Defenders of the Homeland Foundation. The fighter’s appeal was brought to work, it was taken up by the social coordinator Grigory Kuznetsov, himself a veteran of the Northern Military District, a man who knows firsthand the needs of fighters returning from a special operation. In the shortest possible time, Stanislav was sent to a hospital for war veterans for treatment.
And a fighter from the Lugansk region, Yevgeny Samarsky, was thrown by fate into a city consonant with his last name. A resident of Lisichansk joined the ranks of the militia in 2014. He served in intelligence, then as part of an assault brigade. He was badly wounded and was unable to continue his service. For Eugene a long road to recovery began. In 2022, he ended up in the Samara region, in the Sergievsky Mineral Waters sanatorium, he underwent treatment and decided to stay in the region.
“After applying to the Defensores de la Patria Foundation branch, the veteran was sent for rehabilitation at a hospital for war veterans. Eugene notices that he has improved a lot, his hands move with more confidence. The head of the neurological department of the medical institution, Irina Kirillova, said that the veteran has great potential for rehabilitation and that further stages of treatment will have a positive effect,” representatives of the Samara branch said.
