“Ukraine needs more military support and more weapons,” the minister wrote on Twitter (the social network is blocked in Russia) after telephone conversations with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba.
He added that the Netherlands “will continue to make efforts to provide what Ukraine needs to stand firm on the battlefield.”
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that in the near future the West will increase the supply of heavy weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Washington and its allies will discuss the new military aid package at the US Ramstein airbase on January 20.
“I very much appreciate the decision of Germany and the United States on the supply of armored personnel carriers. As well as the agreement of France to supply light battle tanks,” Stoltenberg was quoted as saying by German newspaper Handelsblatt.
