At 05:55 local time (0:55 Moscow time) a warning of serious deterioration in weather conditions was issued.
Parts of Hong Kong, including densely populated areas in the eastern part of the island, received more than 100 millimeters of rain in six hours, according to the National Meteorological Observatory, Bloomberg reported. Forecasters predict more rain on Friday and Saturday. The current bad weather is due to low atmospheric pressure.
Earlier, Super Typhoon Saola hit Hong Kong, becoming the strongest storm to hit the city in five years. And last week, the island was covered in the remnants of Typhoon Haikui and saw record rainfall. Streets were flooded and landslides were reported in some areas.
