For many travelers, seeing the Northern Lights is a cherished dream. The glow of the upper layers of the atmosphere with bright colors can be seen at both poles of the Earth, hence the Latin names of the phenomenon: aurora borealis (northern lights) and aurora austral (southern lights). The glow is not as easy to see live as many people get over the cold and spartan conditions. We are in the BURO newsroom.
