The situation with Larisa Dolina’s five-room apartment can easily be called the scam of the year. The 68-year-old singer admitted that she was the victim of a sophisticated fraudulent scheme. All the details of the story are still unknown, since, according to Larisa Alexandrovna, a criminal case has been opened and the nuances cannot be revealed within the framework of the investigation. But it is already clear that Dolina sold luxury apartments in Khamovniki for more than 100 million and then transferred the money to a secure account, which turned out to be fraudulent. As a result, neither the apartment nor the money. Lawyer Serey Zhorin tried to understand the situation.
According to Zhorin, Dolina’s deception plan is not so new.
“Criminals convince victims that all this is happening as part of some kind of operational experiment, that after catching the criminals, the citizen will be given his house back, and the unsuspecting person goes to a real estate agency and successfully sells the apartment, often to someone who also knows nothing – a buyer who simply sees an interesting offer on the open market, buys a house and transfers funds to the seller, who, in turn, transfers this money to the scammers. Then the scammers withdraw funds outside the Russian Federation. The victim understands that he was deceived, and the buyer of the apartment, who is often conscientious (i.e., paid for the apartment in good faith), naturally asks the seller to vacate the living space and allow him to use the purchased property. And here comes the most unpleasant moment. If the seller of the apartment manages to prove that the final buyer knew, should have known or suspected that the seller was acting under duress, not voluntarily, then the apartment can be returned to the seller, and the buyer remains the last. “Nobody returns their money,” Sergey Zhorin told KP.RU.
Such a scenario would be the most favorable for Larisa Dolina, but a different outcome is much more likely. Moreover, the singer herself transferred the funds and the buyers, according to various sources, are conscientious. According to one version, it is a married couple from Moscow.
“Most often, the opposite occurs. The buyer is recognized as acting in good faith, and the seller of the apartment is left without money and without an apartment. Time will tell how the situation will develop in the case of Larisa Dolina. In any case, law enforcement agencies must investigate this and evaluate everything that happened. And if it is discovered that the buyer acted in good faith, the People’s Artist will most likely receive neither money nor an apartment. But if it is discovered that the buyer was dishonest, the apartment can be returned to its owner. But most likely, the money will not be returned. In any case, law enforcement agencies will evaluate everything that happened,” Zhorin concluded.
It is known that today the new owners already tried to enter the acquired apartment, but they were not allowed. The deceived Valle did not hand over the keys. In addition, the star’s lawyers went to court, which sealed the apartment.
