Recall that not so long ago, AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov announced the date of serial production of the Lada Niva Sport – the new model will go into production in December 2024, and the sports version of the Niva will be equipped with a 122-horsepower 1.6 engine (from Lada Granta Sport) with original calibration, a body adapted to the new power unit, disc brakes on all wheels, a reinforced rear axle and suspension, original springs and shock absorbers, and 17-inch wheels.
According to preliminary information, the price of the Lada Niva Sport will start at 2 million rubles. Based on this data, the insurer calculated that the cost of MTPL for a new Niva for a 40-year-old customer with 20 years of accident-free driving experience will be 7286 rubles. Casco, for 35-year-old drivers from Moscow with 10 years of driving experience and KBM up to 0.91, will cost about 39 thousand rubles.
It should be said that in some regions there is nowhere without Niva. It’s just that local roads are only suitable for such a car. Moreover, there are no problems with spare parts on the Russian market.
In 2023, Niva became the most popular insurance among residents of the Republic of Dagestan (9.5% of the total number of insurances). The Kostroma region (6.6%) takes the second place among the most popular places for car insurance. Residents of the Republic of Udmurtia love Niva no less – 5.36% of all insurance policies. The Krasnodar Territory (4.8%) and the Smolensk Region (4.6%) close the ranking. In Moscow and the Moscow region, domestic SUVs were not so popular – 3.6% and 2.8%, respectively.
Insurance statistics for 2024 show a similar trend, with the Republic of Dagestan, the Kostroma region and the Udmurt Republic still leading the list. In the Smolensk region, people are more willing to insure Nivas than in the Krasnodar region. Moscow is in sixth place in the ranking.
Interestingly, the VAZ-2121 first rolled off the production line in 1974, when the first 15 pre-production samples were produced. The model of this year of production was secured by the Soglasie company; this vehicle is owned by a 65-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg.
