The authors of the Regional State Autonomous Institution “Belgorod-Arena” called this project “Velgorod”. And now they have applied to take part in the third season of the All-Russian sports project competition “You are in the game”. It is carried out by ANO “National Priorities” with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project “Sports is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
The first tour took place in the summer. About 300 cyclists gathered for it, Ksenia Glotova, a representative of the Belgorod Arena, told RG. Among them are people of different ages and professions.
Prospekt Bogdan Khmelnitsky runs through the city. According to him, the authors traced the route. But the path was not straight, but rather runs along parallel streets, touring the center. The almost 25-kilometer-long cycling route outside the city in the Monastyrsky forest ended. Participants were greeted with fireworks, tea, and porridge from the camp kitchen. A DJ performed at the finish line, so the party continued. Then they were all taken by bus to the center of Belgorod.
The authors of the project intend to carry out this type of night cycling tours every year and expand the route. And also: agree with the Ministry of Culture and make reference points along the way, possibly with theatrical performances.
In the third season of the All-Russian competition, it was decided to separately support sports projects that are being implemented on the basis of the facilities built thanks to the project “Sport is the norm of life.” There are 112 such initiatives among the applications in this nomination. “Velgorod” from the Belgorod region is one of them.

The results will be summed up in April 2023. The winners of five main nominations will receive grants of 300 thousand rubles, and the winner of the competition will receive a grand prize of one million rubles.
