Pensions are not the only social benefits that have experienced an improvement in 2023 the infantia. Thus, with the aim that families in a situation of economic vulnerability can cope with the high rise, those who will have dependent minor children will be able to receive the new monthly aid of 115 euros. But, for this, it is necessary to meet a series of requirements.
This measure was launched in 2022 to support low-income families with dependent children, as regulated in the Minimum Vital Income Law. The aid has registered an increase of 8.5% this year, which has made it go from 100 euros the previous year, to the current 115 euros. For this reason, depending on the age of the minor, the amount increases by each child under three years of age.
Who can receive the aid of 115 euros per child
Although, when it was launched, the supplement for children was granted only to recipients of the Minimum Vital Income, now this aid can also be received by other groups, without the need to submit any application, since it will be the National Security Institute Social (INSS) that recognized it ex officio, with economic effects of February 1, 2022. Therefore, it could receive it:
The beneficiaries of the family protection benefit who meet the requirements: have a dependent child or minor without a disability or with a disability of less than 33%, that the cohabitation unit is made up exclusively of the members that appear in the benefit file, as long as they meet the necessary conditions to access the child aid supplement, and that the amount is equal to or greater than the one they received, and they must opt for one of the two benefits.
Requirements to request the childhood supplement
Social Security explains the different requirements that must be met to be among the beneficiaries of the aid of 115 euros per child, one of the main ones being that the coexistence units have low incomes and have a minor.
In turn, the coexistence unit cannot exceed 300% of the guaranteed income, and 150% of the patrimony limit established for the IMV. Neither must the guaranteed income of an adult be exceeded six times, or the corresponding increase for the coexistence unit.
How is the benefit processed?
If Social Security does not automatically recognize the child support supplement, this can be requested in the same way as the Minimum Vital Income, that is, through a form that is accessed at the Electronic Office, or the model of request of the IMV.
However, it is important that, before requesting the benefit, they check whether those who do not receive the IMV are entitled to it. This can be done using the simulator that Social Security has enabled. After answering a few simple questions, you indicate whether or not you would enjoy the add-on.
