This new year of 2023 is loaded with novelties for the subsidies managed by the Public State Employment Service (SEPE), especially in regard to the new amounts, corresponding to the month of January, but which will be effective in the bank accounts from February. To be more exact, this benefit goes from 463.21 euros by 2022, to now 480 euros per month, which means almost 20 more euros for each month until the end of the year, when the IPREM is reviewed again, estimated at 600 Euro at present.
This rise is intended to combat the high rate of inflation, especially due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine, which is especially evident when making a purchase, filling the diesel tank or paying the electricity bill. However, what many beneficiaries do not know is that they can access the unemployment benefit if they have worked for at least three months and have family responsibilities. However, in the case of loss of part-time work, said amount will be received in proportion to the hours previously worked in the last contract. In the event that they do not have dependent children, they must have contributed for at least six months in the General Social Security Scheme, and not reach 360 days.
Precisely in this sense, it should be remembered that if contributions have been made for a year, the interested party has the right to receive unemployment benefit for at least four months, whose minimum and maximum amounts also increase this year. On the other hand, it must be taken into account that if the beneficiary is over 52 years of age, he will have the right to receive the unemployment subsidy for working people over 52 years of age.
The subsidy of 480 euros with a duration of up to 21 months
As for the duration, the number of months quoted or whether you have family responsibilities or not. In the event that you have them, it will last 3, 4 or 5 months, respectively. However, the subsidy will last 21 months if contributions have been made for 6 months or more. In this case, the right will be recognized for six months, although it can be extended for periods of six months until its final duration.
When to process the benefit if you worked less than a year
The SEPE clarifies, through its website, that the right to the subsidy will be born the day after the legal situation of unemployment. Therefore, applicants must submit the application within 15 business days, which starts from the day after the legal situation of unemployment. Of course, the general requirements must be taken into account.
In the first place, you will have to be unemployed or unemployed and in a legal situation of unemployment. In addition, you must be registered or registered as a job seeker and maintain said registration throughout the period of perception and sign the activity commitment. On the other hand, you must not receive income of any kind greater than 75% of the Minimum Interprofessional Salary (SMI), now 1,000 euros gross per month, divided into 14 payments, without counting the proportional part of two extraordinary payments.
Likewise, full or gross income will be taken into account. The income that comes from business, professional, agricultural, livestock or artistic activities is the result of the difference between the income and expenses that have been necessary to obtain this income. Capital gains are the result of the difference between capital gains and losses.
