The Shchusev Museum of Architecture hosted the opening of Mikhail Rozanov’s solo exhibition “Steel. Glass. Concrete”, organized jointly with the Marianna Sardarova Ruarts Foundation. The exhibition includes photographs of European modernist architecture from the 1950s and 1980s, taken between 2018 and 2020 in Madrid, London, Paris, Rotterdam, Milan, Berlin, Belgrade, Helsinki, and Moscow. The architecture of modernism is defined as the “grand style” of Europe, capturing the post-war feeling of optimism, the desire for simplicity of form, clarity of proportions. In the rooms of the Museum of Architecture, shots from different European cities are mixed, inviting the viewer to compare and reflect. The project reflects the author’s perception of buildings and structures, of which he is the same age, and in whose environment he formed his own style: deliberately geometric, brutal, monochrome, perfectly bringing perspective and composition, the contrast of the light. and shadow
The exhibition will run until May 14.
The event, held with the support of Ultima Yandex Go, was attended by Marina Loshak, Daria and Stanislav Lisichenko, Ekaterina Mtsituridze, Irada Zeynalova, Izeta Gadzhieva, Victoria Polyakova and many others.
