The most secular premiere of the summer took place in the Khudozhestvenny cinema – Russian viewers saw the film Jeanne Dubarry with Maivenn and Johnny Depp in the main roles. The film was introduced at the premiere by Konstantin Elkin, producer of the film and director of the Russian film company World Vision, and Elvira Dmitrievskaya, producer and content director of the online cinema Okko. The film will be released on July 20.
Jeanne Dubarry is a film about the last love of King Louis XV of France for a commoner. The film opened the 76th Cannes Film Festival and was greeted with a seven-minute standing ovation there. The film was directed by Maiwenn, Luc Besson’s muse. She also played the lead female role paired with Johnny Depp, who embodied the image of Louis XV. Legendary French actor Pierre Richard appeared as the Duke of Richelieu. It was thanks to the image that Johnny Depp made a triumphant return to world cinema after a three-year break.
