According to him, documents for applying for a pension must be submitted no earlier than a month before the retirement age is officially reached. This can be done in person at a branch or on the Social Fund website, by sending documents by mail, to the MFC or online on the State Services portal, by phone or through an employer, Vinogradov explained to the Prime agency.
If a citizen, through his own fault, submits an application after retirement age, the pension will begin to be paid from the moment the application is registered.
The pension is calculated from the date of submission of the application and not from the moment of retirement age, the lawyer stressed, adding that it is not necessary to delay its registration.
It was previously reported that after the indexation of insurance pensions from January 1, 2024, the average payment for non-working beneficiaries will increase by more than 1.6 thousand rubles and will amount to 23,405 rubles. This follows from the draft budget of the Social Fund of Russia for 2024 presented to the State Duma. It is planned to spend more than 16 trillion rubles on the payment of pensions, insurance benefits and social support measures.
