He stressed that the United States made a strategic mistake when it tried to remove Ukraine from Moscow’s sphere of interest and “turn it into a large military base aimed at Russia.”
According to Kever, Europe has suffered the most from the sanctions that have been imposed on Russia. Although the objective of these initiatives, according to the politician, was “to destroy Russia economically and politically”, as well as to separate it from Europe to create a “new iron curtain”.
Kever concluded that it is necessary to resolve the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible, after which it is necessary to create a new European security system, taking into account the interests of all countries.
Earlier, the adviser to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Balasz Orban, urged the European Commission to carefully analyze the consequences of the sanctions against Russia for Europe, especially in the context of the current energy crisis.
According to Balazs Orban, Budapest will seek exceptions to the EU’s anti-Russian sanctions in the energy sector. He argued that energy for Hungary is a “forbidden zone”.
