According to him, Hungary needed to act decisively and protect the interests of its farmers. “We managed to make sure that we can continue to maintain all the results that we were able to present earlier regarding the ban on the import of Ukrainian products,” RIA Novosti quoted the Hungarian minister as saying.
Nagy added that Hungary will provide transit, making sure that Ukrainian agricultural products leave the country.
Recall that earlier the Cabinet of Ministers of Hungary, following Poland, introduced a temporary ban on the import of grain and oilseeds from Ukraine. The ban will be in force until June 30, 2023. According to the Hungarian authorities, this measure was taken due to the lack of significant measures by the EU to address the problems caused by the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products at prices of dumping.
Meanwhile, the European People’s Party, the largest faction in the European Parliament, has accused Hungary and Poland of helping Russia because of its ban on importing Ukrainian grain. The party called on these countries not to violate EU law and not to do anything to weaken Ukraine.
