Before the vote, the ruling party’s delegates in the Hungarian State Assembly will visit Helsinki and Stockholm on March 7 and 8. The aim is to discuss controversial issues with colleagues from the two countries.
Laszlo Kever pointed out that the deputies are unhappy with the attacks by the representatives of Finland and Sweden from the rostrum of the European Union against Hungary. Those, according to the speaker of parliament, unjustifiably accuse the country of violating the norms of democracy and the rule of law.
“They have no right to speak about the internal politics of Hungary and evaluate it,” says TASS, quoting Kever.
Recall that the head of Hungary, Katalin Nowak, previously said that the parliament would consider the question of admitting Sweden and Finland to NATO in May. At the same time, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban pointed out that ruling party deputies might not agree to these countries joining the North Atlantic Alliance.
