I am what I eat: gastronomic bulletin from friends of BURO.

Our gastroobserver Yulia Susova as part of the LETO.BURO project. she questions friends of the newsroom about favorite dishes, establishments, and all things food.

Friends often ask me which restaurant they should go to and which is my current favorite. I always answer that I cannot point to one or even several places. For me, a restaurant is not just food, but also the atmosphere and definitely the relevance of this place at the moment. If, for example, yesterday I was in a restaurant and I liked it, that does not mean that today is the best for me. I prefer newly opened places as I have to follow current trends.

In general, I rarely go to bars, because I try to take care of myself, take care of my health, nutrition and drink alcohol very rarely. But if I go somewhere, I’ll choose the underground format; you will most likely prefer The Nest Bar on Sretensky Boulevard.

FAVORITE DISH TO DELIVERY:

Actually, a huge number. It depends on what you want at the moment. Very often I order “Coffeemania” – you always get exactly what you expect, and the quality on delivery will be exactly the same as in the restaurant.

COUNTRY – GASTRONOMIC POINT:

I would mention Italy and France: these are the two, shall we say, the most important cuisines for me. I don’t like Japanese or other Asian cuisine.

The Netflix series “Chef’s Table”, each episode is dedicated to a great chef of our days. I recommend it to anyone who wants to touch the wonderful world of gastronomy.

WHERE TO HAVE BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER IN MOSCOW:

Like I said, the places are different, it’s hard to single out the top three. But lately I’ve been more often at Folk, Le Pigeon, Eva and CuttaCutta. Therefore, I can safely recommend these places.

PERSONAL DIET RULES:

Pretty standard stuff. A glass of lemon water in the morning is a must.

I try to limit the amount of gluten I eat, but, in principle, I eat almost everything and always.

The only one of the last rules: if earlier you could not finish dinner or lunch without dessert, now these are different meals. Two or three meals for lunch/dinner is one, coffee plus dessert at home or in a cafeteria/restaurant is another.

CHAMPAGNE OR COCKTAILS:

I prefer champagne, because the quality and mood of two glasses is guaranteed.

MATCHA OR COFFEE:

I don’t like the game at all. Most of the time I drink cappuccino with coconut milk, espresso or americano, depending on what they do well in a particular place. I use the espresso just as a caffeine shot, which helps cheer me up a bit.
