Jeremy Renner recalls being maimed by a snowplow

The New Year holidays in early 2023 turned out to be a real nightmare for Jeremy Renner, star of The Avengers and The Bourne Evolution. The actor, like a real superhero, rushed to help his friends from behind the snow and was literally crushed under the tracks of a heavy snowplow. What happened to him next was terrifying: Renner was in danger of having his limbs amputated. His career could have been buried in that snow hole in California.
But Hawkeye is not called a superhero for nothing. A year and a half later, thanks to the titanic and monotonous work of recovering from almost 40 (!) fractures, Renner was back in brilliant shape. And he spoke about it, citing recent photos as confirmation.
For the popular sports publication Men’s Health, the artist partially exposed himself, showing the results of his grueling workouts, and showed the scars on his back left by a snowplow that fateful day.
Jeremy spends a lot of time training his arms, not forgetting his diet: his triceps and forearms are as defined and dry as possible. And it’s hard to believe, not even because the actor is 53 years old. And after what happened. As it turned out, Renner had 38 bone fractures. He broke almost everything: ribs, knees, ankles, pelvis, face and arms, and he was also diagnosed with a collapsed lung and a punctured liver.
The actor spent 12 days in intensive care; his relatives did not know if he would come to. But the “avenger” turned out to be more than strong: he underwent many operations and went through a long rehabilitation process. Now he can truly call himself Hawkeye or, more precisely, Iron Man – after all, the actor’s chest and eye socket are now supported by metal plates, and his left shin is fixed with a titanium rod.

“The impact was like a wave, because there were four sections of tires with metal tracks; they dragged me like a tank,” he described the sensations. – I remember every movement. I remember my skull breaking. The car was pressing on me. My cheekbone was broken, my eye socket was broken, my eye was popped out. I saw my left eyeball with my right eyeball. I screamed to catch my breath.
Despite her excellent form and manners, the Hollywood star is still plagued by cramps. She cannot afford to relax and does sports every day according to an individual plan. For a simple walk she needs 30 minutes of stretching because it is necessary to exercise the hips, knees and ankles. But compared to what it was, this is just an easy warm-up.
“The shower, the bath, everything was a mess,” she recalled. – You’re peeing in a jar. It was terrible. It took me 17 minutes to get out of bed. But the shower took half a day. I couldn’t wash for a long time, my hair became very greasy and rough, it stank, but I had all these clips that I couldn’t get wet so as not to get an infection. I cleaned myself with a sponge.
Anyone who now asks Renner for inspiration or motivational advice will hear a simple formula, along with a wry smile: “You just have to work. Love yourself. You take one step, then you take another step, and guess what? You go!”
