Even during the pandemic, Valery Leontyev lived more in the United States than in Russia. His wife Lyudmila Isakovich has been living in the United States for a long time. Additionally, the artist complained about angry fans.
In recent years, the singer has had serious health problems, causing him to miss music festivals and cancel solo concerts.
– After a series of plastic surgeries, Valery Yakovlevich’s eyes could not close. That’s why, during the tour, he asked for plain black curtains in his bedroom,” says producer Alina Krasnaya. – Two years ago, Leontyev underwent another plastic surgery in the United States to correct an eye problem. Unfortunately the operation did not have the expected effect. The defect from a previous plastic surgery could not be corrected. Then I had to have surgery on my knees. Valery Yakovlevich had leg problems in the early 2000s. Then, during a performance, he first damaged the meniscus in one leg, and soon in the second. As Leontiev danced a lot during his shows, it became more difficult to perform; Surgery and long-term rehabilitation were necessary, which Leontiev also spent in the United States, at his home in Miami.

Anniversary canceled
A couple of years ago, Leontyev moved completely to the United States to obtain permanent residency. Over the past year, the artist came to Russia only three times, solely to earn extra money at corporate events.
“But now he doesn’t want to come at all,” a person from Leontiev’s entourage told KP.RU. -He decided to leave the stage. “I want you to remember me when I was young, now I can barely walk,” he recently told one of his composers. In March he was scheduled to celebrate his 75th birthday with a concert in Russia, but at the last minute he canceled the solo album and all anniversary celebrations.
– Is this related to the SVO?
– He never openly expressed his position on the SVO. He tries to stay away from politics. It’s more of a question of age, in addition to health problems, I don’t have the strength to perform. Plastic surgery no longer helps you look fresh. He recently fired his entire team: ballet, musicians, director. He still has no plans to come to Russia, although he has not sold his three-story apartment on Kolokolnikov Lane. But I already got rid of my fleet of vehicles. Now he only has one car in his garage, which his assistant Pavel takes care of.

At corporate events he makes money with “biting” taxes
Where in the United States did the singer settle? Just five years ago, the artist had two mansions and an apartment in Miami. Now Leontyev and his wife Lyudmila, who left Russia more than 20 years ago, own a single, but very luxurious, house in Miami. The singer’s mansion has six bedrooms, a swimming pool and a gym. Leontyev’s house is located on a picturesque embankment. In 2013, real estate agents valued the mansion at 6 million dollars (550 million rubles at current exchange rates). Now its cost is about 10 million dollars (910 million rubles).
Along with the price, property taxes have also increased. At the end of the year, the artist will have to pay about 200 thousand dollars in taxes (more than 18 million rubles). This is almost double that of previous years. Therefore, according to the singer’s entourage, this year he flew three times to secret corporate events. However, now Leontyev refuses even to perform in Dubai. He is not satisfied with his appearance and no longer has enough strength to dance alone on stage for two hours, without a fired ballet dancer.

Leontyev and his wife also have a villa in Spain, which the artist bought many years ago near the city of Alicante. Then the purchase of luxury apartments cost the singer 4 million euros (400 million rubles at the current exchange rate). The Beckham couple owns a property next door. However, “Casanova” has not been seen in Spain for a long time; Lyudmila, Leontyev’s wife, rents this property to tenants. The couple still has no plans to sell the Spanish villa.
