The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, assures that there is no agreement with ERC to approve the Budgets of the Generalitat for 2023 because the party itself “blocks the agreement” despite there being “fluid contact” between the former Minister of Health and the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès. Illa assures that the proposal of the Catalan socialists is a plan of minimums, not of maximums. Among the measures that the PSC has included to give the green light to the Budgets is the Hard Rock or the expansion of the Barcelona Airport.
In an interview in the newspaper ‘El Periódico’ collected this Sunday by Europa Press, Illa has assured that if from ERC “they agree to close an agreement, there will be budgets in a few hours.”
Even with the disagreements to close an agreement, Illa has assured that “messages have been exchanged and there is fluid contact” with the president of the Generalitat, and considers that now it is he who has the responsibility to reach agreements.
Asked if he feels pressured by the Government’s pacts with the communes and unions and employers, he replied that “not at all”, and that he strongly defends his party’s proposal, which, according to him, will make it possible to protect citizens and generate Prosperity in Catalonia.
Current situation of the ‘process’
“There is no longer unity, unilateralism has been replaced by an acceptance, on the part of ERC, of the framework of coexistence; and the dynamic of confrontation has been replaced by one of dialogue”, he has sentenced, explaining what, in his words, These were the three foundations of the ‘process’.
When asked about the state of the ‘procés’, Illa has assured that there is currently “a very different stage” and has applauded that the Government’s policies will, according to her, have the purpose of improving things in Catalonia.
