It collected 40 paintings by prominent artists from two countries, working in a variety of styles and genres: painting, graphics, photography. Everyone will find something to their liking here.
“Art has always been and continues to be a universal language, close and understandable to everyone,” admits the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova.
In their works, the authors reflect on eternal values: peace, beauty, harmony, creation. All of them are honorary and full members of the Russian Academy of Arts.
The venue for this exhibition, probably the first of its kind, was the Zurab Tsereteli Gallery, an unusual venue. Especially the “Apple” room, where the paintings were exhibited. Here you have a bronze fruit, bitten by Adam and Eve, as tall as a three-story building, and giant figures of two emperors Alexander, Boris Pasternak on a bench with Marina Tsvetaeva and Kazemir Malevich in the form of a medieval painter with “Black Square ”. Stunning surroundings.
– I often organize events here and hear not “thank you”, but “thank you”. This is a great honor for the Academy. What is an artist? An artist must create and give glory – Zurab Tsereteli himself admitted.

The exhibition began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack on Crocus Town Hall. The Belarusian ambassador to Russia, Dmitry Krutoy, noted that the terrorists’ goal was to intimidate society, but they made a miscalculation. In the face of tragedy, Russians united even more, and Belarusians were and continue to be “together with their brothers.” And an exhibition of artists from the two countries will be the best response to the challenge posed by terrorists.
These projects are designed precisely to emphasize the unifying role of art.
– What creative and talented people do for the good of millions of citizens is very important and requires support. This is how we saw this exhibition today, this is how we see the cooperation that will be planned in the near future in collaboration with the Ministries of Culture of Belarus and Russia,” said Union State Secretary Dmitri Mezentsev.
