According to Ilan Kisling, a representative of the Berlin Jewish community, the community is faced with real death threats and hatred, which puts children and adolescents in an intolerable situation.
In this regard, it was decided to create a “safe space” in the existing youth centre where Jewish participants could live without worries. A corresponding application has already been submitted to the Berlin Senate. This will require additional funding. State Secretary of the Senate Office for Youth and Social Affairs Falko Lykke (CDU) confirmed receipt of the corresponding letter from the Jewish community.
