Here, the locals saw not one, but several “bad Santas” who, in a drunken state, were driving through a narrow street in … an old armored personnel carrier. Military reenactors who are engaged in the restoration of battle scenes decided to celebrate Christmas in their own way. After drinking strong drinks, several grown men dressed up as Santa Claus and decided to “continue the feast” in the village pub, crushing a parked car in the driveway.
Residents were furious when a huge “metal beast” got stuck and blocked access to their Christmas-lit street. Comedic scenes show the Santas struggling to move their army vehicle and being scolded by locals for trying to drive through the narrow streets.
In the video, which has gone viral on social media, some of the Santas can be heard slurring their words and gesturing vigorously while the car is unable to move. A traffic officer can be heard chastising the Santas and trying to convince them they can’t go any further, Cornwall Live reports. “You can’t drive with your tank, there are cars stopped there. You won’t be able to pass,” he told the driver, pointing to the center of the village.
The other Santa Claus tried to protest, but he seemed to be drunk, and then the driver told the traffic officer that they could go anywhere. Tourists who came to town to see the Christmas lights ended up seeing a funny side to the chaos caused by Santa’s “takeover” of the town.
Incidentally, internet users shared their observations, saying they saw this “drunk car” with “bad Santas” in various locations around Cornwall throughout the day, the Mirror reports. “In the morning they flipped all the pavements in Redruth. I had to report this to the village council,” said one user.
