A woman born in 1986 was injured. According to the Republican Agency for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, she and a man decided to climb the mountain. Early in the morning of December 24, they left the hotel and at the foot of the peak fell under a mass of snow.
“The man was not surprised and dug up the woman. Allegedly, the victim has a lower back injury, she cannot move on her own,” the ministry said in a statement.
Rescuers from the Buryat Republican Search and Rescue Service approached to help the victim. They caught up with the couple at 11:10 p.m. local time and evacuated the victim. As reported on the website of the General Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region, he is now in the central district hospital in Kyren village.
