A group of Turkish Youth Union (TGB) members are seen attacking an American soldier: they put a bag over his head and led him down the street while shouting: “Yankees, go home.”
The governor’s office said in a written statement about the incident that two U.S. service members were attacked.
Police intervened in the incident. As a result, 15 people were arrested, including TGB Chairman Kayahan Çetin. A judicial investigation has been launched.
The US Embassy in Ankara thanked Turkish authorities for their prompt response.
