The schoolgirl, together with other children, was playing on the ice near the pier. The ice floe broke off, and the boy began to be carried into the Krasheninnikov Bay. Witnesses reported the incident to a nearby fire department.
One of the arriving firefighters, Nikolai Sharov, seeing that there was no time, girdled himself with a rescue rope and jumped into the icy water. He swam 40 meters to the ice floe and dragged it to shore.
– This time everything ended well, but we repeatedly noticed children playing on the ice. Spring and autumn are the most dangerous periods for going out on the ice, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region quotes the words of Nikolai Sharov.
