The last name of this citizen is traditionally not called by the police. They only reported that employees of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan detained a Kazan resident. The man is suspected under a criminal article on the illegal production and sale of narcotic substances.

The Interior Ministry said that the Kazan police on Rodina street stopped a rented car driven by a citizen who became a suspect in this criminal case. This car was thoroughly examined and found, according to the police report, “objects that look like jelly beans”.

There were a lot of these “sweets”, more than 650 grams.

Why this jam aroused the suspicion of drug dealers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs does not say. Perhaps its color: dark dirty green. Real jam does not exist in this color. Or maybe a characteristic smell and also not very “caramel”.

In general, a suspicious finding was sent for analysis. And the suspicions of the operatives were confirmed, according to the results of the study, the seized “jam” contained in its composition “a narcotic from the cannabis group.” That day, the dangerous sweets were not the only find of local drug traffickers.

“In the course of further work at the forest plantation, the police found two caches, which also contained similar items,” the police department said.

During a search of the man’s home, police discovered an actual mini-plantation for growing hemp. Scales, packing materials and other “objects of probative value” were also found. Everything that was found, the drug dealers sent for examination.

This poison lover also had 89 plant bushes confiscated, as well as prepared marijuana and hashish oil.

According to the detainee himself, he really dedicated himself at home, as they wrote in the protocol, to “illegal cultivation of plants that contain narcotic drugs.” This amateur chemist then isolated a drug from them, mixed it with gelatin and poured into molds to make jam.

The product thus obtained, stresses the police, was distributed by the citizen with the help of cache-markers.

The investigator of the Police Department No. 15 of the Kazan Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The minimum sentence provided for in the article presented is 15 to 20 years in prison. But this is next to nothing compared to the maximum term for it: up to life in prison.

– The accused was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention, – said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk.

We emphasize that this producer of dangerous jam was imposed the most serious part of the criminal article for possession, acquisition, transportation and illegal manufacture of narcotics.

If the court agrees with the evidence collected by the investigation, the detained citizen is threatened with the most serious penalties provided for in this criminal article. In addition, the minimum penalty provided for in this article is 15 to 20 years in prison, plus a fine of up to one million rubles.

But this is almost nothing compared to the maximum penalty provided for in the same criminal article, up to life imprisonment.
