According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory and the Jewish Autonomous Region, a man born in 1960 was charged under part 2 of article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ( violation of safety regulations during construction work, which through negligence involved inflicting serious bodily injury, serious damage and the death of a person).
According to law enforcement officials, the chief engineer did not provide the necessary control over the technical condition of the tower crane, which turned out to be out of order.
“When a crack was found in the structure of the crane, the defendant decided to carry out welding work without involving a specialized organization, which led to poor-quality repairs to the dangerous installation and its subsequent collapse,” explained the regional prosecutor’s office.
The materials of the criminal case were sent to the Khabarovsk Industrial District Court for consideration on the merits.
Recall that on October 26, 2021, a tower crane fell on a polyclinic building under construction within the boundaries of Pavel Morozov and Vakhov streets in Khabarovsk. As a result, a worker was killed, the crane operator was seriously injured, and the enterprise suffered eight million rubles in damage. Later it turned out that the collapsed tower crane had expired. At the same time, the developer’s representative claimed that the crane was in good working order.
