As reported by the Investigative Committee, on March 8, 1996, the body of a 30-year-old woman was found in a private house on Shchorsa Street in the capital of Khakassia. Law enforcement officers opened a case, but were unable to resolve it promptly. Detectives did not track down the alleged killer until this year.

The crime was solved thanks to the joint efforts of investigators and criminologists of the investigative committee together with colleagues from the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of the Interior. By repeatedly analyzing the case materials, they suspected that a resident of the Kyrgyz Republic was involved in the murder, the headquarters of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia clarified today.

As it turned out, almost three decades ago a man came to Siberia to make money selling clothes. The business did not work and the businessman decided to return to his homeland, but there was not enough money for the trip and he decided to steal. On the morning of March 8, 1996, a drunk merchant arrived at a friend’s house. He was not there; A family member opened the door. The intruder hit her several times on the head and then strangled her with a rope.

The murderer took the money found in the house and left for Kyrgyzstan. He was arrested last February in Moscow. During interrogation he admitted his guilt. The accused is currently detained. The criminal case was transferred to the Abakan court.
