The joint press service of the regional courts announced the verdict on its Telegram channel today.
It was established that in the winter of 2019, a judge of the Krasnoyarsk Sovetsky District Court received 1.2 million rubles in his office through an intermediary lawyer. This money was converted into the payment of a lighter sentence than is required by law in the case of drug trafficking and to help transfer the convict to his homeland, to one of the CIS countries.
The crime was stopped by the FSB.
The former judge pleaded not guilty and was unrepentant. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison in a strict regime colony and a fine of six million rubles, and also deprived of the right to hold certain posts for five years.
The verdict has not yet entered into force, the regional prosecutor’s office said.
The lawyer who acted as an intermediary in the transfer of the bribe was convicted in July 2021. She was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of 3.6 million, she recalled at the regional headquarters of the RF IC.
