“The trident will not be hoisted to Homeland today. It is noticeable that the work was considerably delayed due to bad weather”, thus the reason for the interruption of the working day was explained.
The coat of arms was temporarily fixed at a height of 24 meters.
The work is expected to be finished the following day.
“Tomorrow the increase will continue if the weather conditions allow it,” said Yuriy Savchuk, director of the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II.
Remember that elements of the Soviet coat of arms – the hammer and sickle – were dismantled on August 1. The installation of new symbols is scheduled to be completed on the Independence Day of Ukraine on August 24.
