In Monte Carlo, where the gala show of the International Circus Festival is taking place, the military band of the Principality unexpectedly began to play the “March of the Slav”.
This was announced on his Telegram channel by the head of the Great Moscow State Circus, Edgardt Zapashny. This year, the organizers of the competition officially refused the participation of Russian artists and canceled the invitations to the director of the Russian State Circus, Sergei Belyakov, and the main director of the festival, the Honored Artist of Russia, Gia Eradze. In addition, the organizers made an official offer to President Zelensky to send a video message to the audience and the artists of the competition.
And suddenly, unexpectedly for the audience, the Monaco military orchestra began to play the march by Vasily Agapkin, familiar to millions.
“Friends, I am a bit shocked: at the moment, the gala show of the International Circus Festival is taking place in Monte Carlo,” wrote Edgard Zapashny. – The largest delegation of artists is the delegation of Ukraine. And the Russian flag was removed at the opening ceremony.
But the military orchestra of the principality, which traditionally plays before the start of the Gala show, suddenly decided to perform the well-known march GOODBYE OF THE SLAVIC!
The famous march was written in 1912 by the trumpeter of the headquarters of the 7th reserve cavalry regiment, Vasily Agapkin, under the impression of the events of the First Balkan War (1912-1913). For more than a hundred years, it has been the most famous and recognizable Russian national march, symbolizing farewell to war or military service. Abroad – this is one of the musical symbols of Russia.
