On his Telegram channel, the head of the region expressed his deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who died in an accident on the Chamzinsky district highway.
As RG already wrote, the tragedy occurred on Sunday at the 31st kilometer of the Saransk-Surskoye-Ulyanovsk highway.
A Lada Largus car driven by a 36-year-old woman entered the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes truck. At the same time, the Hyundai Verna car was also touched tangentially.
As a result of the collision, Lada Largus caught fire. The driver and four children who were with her in the cabin died. The truck driver has been hospitalized.
According to the Mordovian public prosecutor’s office, an inspection of compliance with road safety legislation has been initiated due to the fact of an accident in which children died.
Traffic is currently restricted in this area.
