This house was erected in 1899 according to the project of the architect PV Yakovlev in the neoclassical style. Until 1914, it was the profitable home of Olga Mikhailovna Veselovskaya, the wife of a court adviser. In addition, the history of the house is rich in other interesting facts. So it was here that the pre-war childhood of the People’s Artist of the RSFSR Georgy Yumatov passed.
There was no comprehensive reform of the house. Now specialists have repaired the facade, roof, entrances, basement, replaced internal engineering systems.
“It is important to renovate residential buildings comprehensively in order to fully restore the facility. At the same time, we carefully preserve the historical portrait of the houses, reviving their original beauty. During the overhaul of building No. 8, building 1, we paid special attention to the recreation of decorative architectural elements”, says Vladimir Kozhichenkov, Deputy General Director of FKR Moscow. – We create a single project for work, which takes into account all the features of the object. We select the most suitable materials and technologies”.
As the specialist points out, the architecture of the object, made in neoclassical style, is interesting. The façade is divided by horizontal rods, cornices and a frieze. A striking element of the decoration are the decorative porticoes on the 2nd and 3rd floors, as well as the rustication on the first floor. The entrance groups to the entrances are marked with portals with abundant decoration. Neighboring houses are joined from the ends. The facades of the courtyards are made in a laconic style with typical windows. A capping cornice runs along the perimeter of the house.
