Let us remember that “Magas” is the same leader who in 2013 was sentenced in the same military court to life imprisonment for committing a series of terrorist attacks, the most notorious of which was the attack against the then head of the republic, Yunus. -Bek Yevkurov, when a suicide bomber blew up a caravan of chapter cars. In addition, he was accused of organizing a car bomb attack near the Nazran district Internal Affairs Department building, which killed 21 people and injured nearly 300. Ali Taziyev was arrested on June 9, 2010 as a result of a unique operation of the special services, and after the verdict, he is serving his sentence in the special regime colony “Bely swan” in the Perm region.
Now he was brought to Rostov-on-Don in connection with new episodes of proven crimes. According to investigators, in the spring of 2008, at the suggestion of one of the leaders of the terrorist organization Emarat Kavkaz, banned in Russia, Taziev joined her and quickly rose to the rank of military emir. The defendant’s functions included the development, planning and control of terrorist acts and attacks against citizens and organizations, the selection of their executors, information and financing of preparations for terrorist attacks. His goal was to change the constitutional order of Russia, violate the territorial integrity of the state and create the conditions for the spread of radical Islam and to influence the decision-making of the Russian state authorities.
One of the targets of attention for the gangs controlled by Taziyev were law enforcement officers and military personnel. They organized attacks and murders, tried to paralyze their activities, having weapons, ammunition, and explosive devices in illegal circulation. The bandits received funds for this in a constant stream from citizens and organizations engaged in business activities. It was Taziev who came up with a new tactic for the activities of small terrorist groups – the so-called execution squads. A special plan was developed for a series of attacks in the Republic of Ingushetia against traffic police posts. From September 2009 to June 2010, there were explosions at two traffic police posts, at a military unit, the bandits fired at the cafe building and opened fire on traffic police inspectors. As a result of these attacks, five employees from various departments were killed and several more people were injured.
During the reading of the verdict by the judge Sergei Gorelov “Magas” Ali Taziyev behaved calmly and restraint. In the spring, he and his attorney requested a jury trial, but were denied. At the first hearing in this case, the defendant pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor asked for life imprisonment for the gang leader. As explained in the press service of the court, this is the only defendant in the Military Court of the Southern District, in respect of which a sentence with a second “life imprisonment” is passed, but he committed many crimes and all of them must be sentenced. .
