The ships will conduct artillery fire, practice repelling air attacks from a simulated enemy, counter-terrorism actions, tactical maneuvers, and assisting a ship in distress. The active phase of the maneuvers is expected to end on February 27.
Russian forces are represented in the exercises by the frigate “Admiral Gorshkov” and the medium tanker “Kama”.
Russia also has lead country status for the exercise, which is being held in the water area 160 kilometers south of Richards Bay.
