Soon, law enforcement officers managed to detain him and bring charges under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal hunting, if this act was committed with a mechanical vehicle, in relation to animals, the hunting of which is completely prohibited, by a group of people by prior agreement, causing particularly large damage) .
Remember that earlier in the case, the first person involved was detained – a 42-year-old resident of Okha.
The investigation believes that from February 18 to 23, in the Dune River area of Okhinsky District, a group of poachers using snowmobiles and firearms illegally hunted at least 26 reindeer. The animal is listed in the regional Red Book. The damage caused by hunters is estimated at more than 4.7 million rubles.
Investigators are still looking for other accomplices in the crime.
