A tragic incident occurred yesterday in the waters of the Kitoi River, a tributary of the Angara. A boy born in 2020, accompanied by two children aged eight and nine, went for a walk along the riverbank without asking his parents’ permission. A child who fell into the water was caught by the current. Rescuers are searching for the body.
A criminal case has been opened and investigators are investigating the details of the incident, the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.
The prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation. The department’s employees will be tasked with assessing the implementation of laws on the protection of children’s lives and the well-being of families, as well as ensuring the safety of local authorities on water bodies.
