The accident occurred on Sunday evening. Investigators believe that three boys aged 13, 14 and 17 decided to steal cables from a transformer substation in the village of Khrebtovy. A 14-year-old schoolboy broke through the station fence, opened a transformer and, touching high-voltage equipment, received an electric shock. The boy died on the spot.
A criminal case has been opened for causing death by negligence, the regional department of the Investigative Commission reported.
