The injured bank employee herself informed the police about the emergency. According to her, an unknown person entered the bank, approached her desk and threw green leaves at her. The attacker was arrested without delay. During the trial, it turned out that telephone scammers forced her to take such a strange step.
The detainee said that about a month ago she was called by an unknown person. The man reported an alleged data leak related to the woman’s professional activity. They were discussing financial details and personal data. Instead of stopping the conversation and contacting the police, the woman began to follow the scammers’ instructions. Under their direction, she granted loans and stored cash in safe deposit boxes of pseudo-trusted persons.
The scammers then invited the woman to personally participate in punishing those who allegedly stole other people’s money. She proposed to go to a bank branch and teach the “dishonest” employee a lesson by dousing her with dye. Which the woman did without any hesitation. And only after law enforcement officers arrived at her home, the local resident realized that she had become another victim of the scammers. Moreover, she not only lost a good amount of money, but also got into trouble with the law.
The question of initiating a criminal case is being decided. The police received a statement from the attacker about fraud: a criminal case has been opened under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
