According to the press service of the regional traffic police, the accident occurred around midnight from Thursday to Friday at km 492 of the R-208 road. This is a section between the city of Ershov and the village of Ozinki on the border with Kazakhstan.
The 19-year-old driver of a Hyundai car, a resident of Yershov, lost control of the car and drove into a ditch.
As a result of an accident, a passenger, a 25-year-old native of Tajikistan, died, his 22-year-old compatriot received a broken hip and concussion. The driver of the car also has a concussion.
According to Health Minister Oleg Kostin, the condition of both victims is assessed as moderate, they were taken by ambulance to the hospital at the Ershov station.
