According to the regional State Traffic Inspectorate, on Saturday, August 31, at 11:30 p.m. local time (Moscow time + 1), in the village of Gorny, Krasnopartisansky district, a 17-year-old driver of a VAZ 2114 lost control. The car, in which four teenagers were traveling, went off the road, crashed into a tree, overturned and caught fire.
One of the passengers, a 15-year-old boy, died in hospital; the driver himself and two other passengers, aged 15 and 16, survived but were injured.
A few hours later, that same evening, at the 68th kilometer of the Volsk-Kalmantai highway, not far from the village of Spasskoye, a 25-year-old driver of a Lada of the same model lost control. The car went off the road and overturned. As a result, the driver himself and his passenger, a 21-year-old man, died.
The regional prosecutor’s office said an investigation into the minor’s accident is underway.
“The supervisory body will assess the implementation of legislation on the prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency, as well as compliance with the requirements of road safety legislation,” the press service said.
