The information will be collected by the Ural State Mining University, as it already has experience in preparing specialized databases in various areas and laboratories for scientific research. For example, one of the projects is dedicated to the creation of a station for automated monitoring of the environment – air, water and soil, said the rector of the university Alexei Dushin.
Scientists and students will participate in the creation of the deposit base. It is planned to indicate data on the geographical location of objects with coordinates, area, number of surviving structures, as well as the geological composition and the presence of man-made debris. This will help to assess the possibility of a further use of the object, for example, for the processing of residues from subsoil use or the opening of tourist routes.
– To launch large-scale digital projects in the region -various services for the population and public administration systems- we will need additional resources. In order to more actively involve students in this work, we plan to develop digital volunteering with the participation of local universities, including the Mining University, says Mikhail Ponomarkov, head of the regional ministry of digital development and communications.
By the way, within the framework of the agreement on scientific and educational cooperation, the Ministry of Digital Development and the USGU will conduct joint research and train personnel in the direction of “Land Management and Cadastres”. But the key project is the organization of a system for monitoring the socio-economic development of the Middle Urals in the field of data on subsoil use, which will become part of the regional geographic information system.
