Flood damage in the region is being assessed. Two areas were affected by the water: Petrovsk-Zabaikalsk and the village of Orlovsky.
According to Governor Alexander Osipov, an order has been given to send additional pumps to pump out water and to start filling the washed-out streets as soon as possible. In Orlovsky, for example, 21st Street has been washed away. 35 specialists are working there. In Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky, 24 houses have been inspected, the streets have been filled with earth, and 64 specialists have been working.
An uninterrupted supply of drinking water has been arranged for residents. After the water recedes, all houses and bridges will be re-inspected and the list of victims will be updated for assistance.
It should be recalled that due to heavy rains the Balyaga and Mykyrta rivers overflowed their banks, flooding populated areas. In total, more than 80 people, including 61 children, were evacuated from the disaster zone in the Trans-Baikal Territory. More than 20 people, including 15 children, have been placed in temporary accommodation. The water also destroyed a bridge.
