The educational institution was supposed to go into operation last year, but the completion of the work is still a long way off: the readiness of the facility is estimated at 34.5 percent, according to the Primorsky Territory Prosecutor’s Office.
It should be noted that in November 2020 the contract for the construction of the school was signed within the framework of the national project “Education”. The building was supposed to be completed in December 2022. The contractor found a subcontractor and received an advance payment of 940 million rubles from the management for the construction of facilities in Vladivostok. These funds could only be spent on the purchase of materials, but, as follows from the statement of the regional prosecutor’s office, the contractor spent 76 million rubles on solving the current problems of the enterprise: paying salaries, paying insurance premiums.
Meanwhile, the construction deadlines were missed, as a result, the delivery of the school was postponed until December 2023, and the cost of the contract increased by more than a third: the school was originally planned to be built for 1.8 billion, plus time, the estimate rose to 2.9 billion.
Investigators are now looking into the circumstances associated with a sharp increase in the budget and the delay in the construction of the school.
