The total value of Russian imports to India was more than $37 billion compared to $8 billion a year earlier. Oil has become the most demanded commodity from Russia to India. According to statistics for the first ten months of the fiscal year (ends March 30), Russia is now India’s fourth largest supplier country after China, the United Arab Emirates and the US. In total, Russia accounted for 6, 2% of all Indian imports.
India, along with China, are the main buyers of Russian oil. Its imports from April 2022 to January 2023 amounted to $78.58 billion, which is $27.81 billion more than Russian oil imports in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
