Inditex once again breaks its sales ceiling and shoots up its profits by 50% until April

Date: February 24, 2024 Time: 08:28:32

Inditex, the textile group led by Marta Ortega, once again breaks all its economic records at the start of the year 2024 after seeing its sales skyrocket another 13% to invoice 7,611 million euros. The good progress of its operations is reflected in a record net result: 1,168 million euros, 54% more than last year at this point.

It does so due to two fundamental factors: the good sales performance of its new spring and summer fashion collections, and greater cost containment, with expenses that were lower than income (+13%). Gross margin grew again, both in total terms (+14% to 4,603 million) and in percentage terms (+34 basis points in one year); and Ebitda also does so in a similar proportion, showing an operating result of 2,195 million (+14%).

The prospects do not seem to change in the coming months. If between February and April sales have grown at a rate of 15% (at a constant exchange rate), between May and June they have grown by 16% over the period last year, a milestone that allows Inditex to highlight that” the execution of the business model has been very outstanding”.

Despite this, they have no intention of stopping. “Inditex continues to see great growth opportunities” that will be reflected in “different initiatives for the coming years in all key areas” in order to “take our business model to the next level and further expand our differentiation,” they say.
