Recall that on December 16, an Mi-8 helicopter with three people on board crashed at the Ulan-Ude airport.
“During landing on the alternate runway at Baikal airport, the aircraft switched to spontaneous rotation mode and went down. As a result of the crash and the resulting fire, the helicopter was completely destroyed, the crew members died,” the message reads.
According to the head of the republic, Alexei Tsydenov, the Buryat government will pay the families of the victims one million rubles each.
On the fact of the incident, the investigating authorities opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, resulting in death of two or more persons for negligence.” The investigation is ongoing.
