“The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the hostile and provocative position of the adviser to the President of Ukraine (Mikhail Podolyak – ed.), called his statements about the recent destructive action against the military complex in Isfahan suspicious and demanded an officer and a clear explanation from the Ukrainian side on this matter”, says the statement, published on the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic.
Recall that earlier Podolyak said that the drone strike on the Defense Ministry object in Isfahan and the explosion at the enterprise in Azarshahr may be associated with alleged Russian assistance from Iran. “Ukraine warned you,” Podolyak wrote on Twitter (blocked in Russia).
In connection with Podolyak’s statement, Ukraine’s Chargé d’Affaires in Tehran Yevhen Kravchenko was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
On the night of January 29, an explosion rumbled through Iranian Isfahan. As the Iranian Defense Ministry later reported, it was a failed attempt to attack one of its military installations using explosively-charged quadcopters. One was shot down, the other two fell into defensive traps and exploded.
