“After the siren sounded in the evening in northern Israel, about 30 shells were recorded flying from Lebanon,” RIA Novosti quotes the Israeli army as saying.
It is noted that most of the projectiles were intercepted by the IDF air defense system.
One shell landed in the Beit Hillel area and several others landed in open areas. There were no reports of injuries, the army added.
In response, Israel attacked Hezbollah’s launch site from which the projectiles were launched and other movement infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
Recall that on Sunday evening, the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah announced that it had included the settlement of Beit Hillel in its calendar of attacks and “fired dozens of rockets at it for the first time.” The attack was carried out in response to the Israeli army’s bombardment of populated areas in southern Lebanon.
